I’m sure that, at some point, you’ve either tried to make a photo scrapbook or, at least, seen a completed one. Every family has them. They’re usually either a mixed up compilation of photographs, though, or they’re only photographs from one specific occasion. Online photo books can change all that.

You see, a lot of us have photos all over our houses. They’re in boxes or bags. They’re shoved in corners in attics or closets. Over time, they can get lost or damaged. If you put them online, though, you can preserve them permanently, as well as using them to create great printable digital scrapbooks.
You might think it’s far too much work to convert all of your photographs to digital images, but it’s really not. You can take them to a print shop and have them converted for you. In fact, most print shops even offer bulk discounts for large jobs. So, it’s quick and easy for you.
Another great thing about online scrapbooking is that you don’t have to deal with only your own photographs. You can have family members all over the country, or even the world, e-mail pictures and stories to you to go in the book. Then, you can send them all the completed file and they can print it off at their leisure.
What are some of the uses for digital photo books? Well, one of them is to commemorate a really special occasion. Imagine being able to compile candid wedding shots to give to someone on their anniversary the next year, as well as to preserve for your family. You could even make a book to commemorate a family gathering, such as a birthday, or, you could give your child a scrapbook of snapshots from their life, as a school graduation gift.
Another unique idea that you might not have thought of is a recipe photo book. We all have recipe cards around the house. Many of them have been passed down for generations. After a while, they become so faded that it’s nearly impossible to read them. That’s if they survive long enough without getting ripped, lost or splattered with food.
If you digitize your recipes, you can preserve them permanently. In fact, if you don’t want to type up the recipes again, you can just scan images of the recipe cards. That can give them a much more unique and personal feel. Adding images of the foods or of the family sitting down to eat can add the perfect touch to your creation. Then, you’ll have a family recipe book that you can e-mail to everyone, add to whenever you like and pass down for generations to come.
